The concept of shyness, and introversion is so entirely foreign to me now, which is probably why the majority of my close friends today are ones that I’ve met at uni or work, sometime in the last three years. It’s not a fool-proof system – my go-to person for emotional (read: romantic) crises is still a girl from high school, and a so-called best friend from uni turned out to be a backstabbing bitch- which does, I suppose, call into question the logistics of friendship but that is, perhaps, the very beauty of it – that friends defy logic (and age and location and gender and race and pretty much every other barrier in the world).

A little bit nostalgic but a lot optimistic.

There’s one thing I want to say, so I’ll be brave

I’m not sorry I met you, I’m not sorry it’s over.

I am a little sorry on the latter, I guess, I won’t lie about that. But I’m grateful all the same – I had a lot of fun with you, and I hope we stay friends.

However, because of
a) a change in family dynamics (tl; cbf explaining)
b) my entering the off-period of my seasonal/consumer-demand driven job and
c) my attempts to try and save at least 60% of whatever pay I do get,
I’ll be budgeting $45 each week to cover all expenses (including travel)… which sounds ridiculous and impossible but I’ve done it before ($30/week in first year!) so I can probably do it again.

Once semester starts, I mean. I have Splendour in Queensland next week and I’m not nearly so impractical that I’m only bringing $50 to cover a week’s worth of petrol, food and accomodation!

Just have to get through this week!
